Peek at my Week: {September 21-25, 2015}

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has had a restful weekend! Mine went by super quick and I was super busy and yet I still have a pile of laundry! Some things are never ending.

I'm linking up again with Mrs. Wills Kindergarten for Peek at my Week!

But first, a quick review of this past week:
I went to the Louisiana Reading Association 2015 Conference and had a blast! I learned so much and got to hear some great presenters.

FIRST I got to meet Eric Litwin, author of the first four Pete the Cat books!

He was amazing! I also purchased his new books: The Nut Family.

There is a dance contest for the best Polka Dot Dance and Mr. Eric will come to your school if you win and let me tell you it would be totally WORTH IT!
Check out the contest {{HERE}}.

I also got to meet Mr. Greg from the Kindergarten Smorgasboard. His presentation was amazing!! And his classroom totally makes me want to get rid of desks forever.

And finally I got to hear Mrs. Donalyn Miller, author of the Book Whisperer, talk about getting your students to read. She was so inspiring. And funny!

I also presented on Creating your Own Interactive Notebooks.

I'm really getting into presenting. I plan on doing it a lot more in the future!!

Alrighty! On to the sneak peek!
Here are my plans for the week:

It's apple week! We are starting our Johnny, Apples, and Pie, Oh My! Unit and we've got lots to do!

Our supplemental activities this week include making a Life Cycle Mobile and writing about the life cycle of an apple.

I've created a few simple printables to help support our study on apples.

We will be finishing up our writing on Scientists as well as reading all sorts of FABULOUS books about apples!

It's our review week, so we will be reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives in grammar and we will be using some activities from some AWESOME TpT Teacher Authors!

Well that's a quick summary of my week! I'll make sure to snap some pics from our fun activities with the apples! I hope everyone has a great week!

I've been known to buy things just because they were pink.  Wine and I have a nice relationship. Especially reds.   Did someone say glitter? Yes, I love glitter. No matter the question, the answer is always glitter.  And of course, technology. I love technology! Except when it doesn't work, then I don't like it so much.  I am also a Google Certified Educator! I love all things Google and I am excited to bring my class this year completely paperless!  The district has...

Thoughts on Thursday: Are You Ready for Some Football?

I'm so excited that this is Thursday and my friend Kristi from Pelicans and Pipsqueaks and I are launching our monthly link-up of teacher thoughts!  Thoughts on Thursday is a weekly teacher blog link up where we talk about our thoughts on a specific subject. Sometimes we'll talk about classroom stuff, and sometimes we'll talk about life in general. You may even grab a freebie or two along the way ;) It has been a wild month of August and I am beyond ready to get back into the swing of things. So this month - Football!! So it won't come as any surprise, but living in Baton Rouge, I'm a little bit of a Tigers fan. Just a little. No, of course my closet doesn't consist of ALL purple and gold. There is some black. And pink. I may or may not own solid gold shoes with purple laces. I can neither confirm nor deny that when I go shopping I look for shoes and jewelry that match my game day outfits. Yeah, okay. I mean, just look at all this wonderfulness! Who doesn't...
